the series STICK MICH is about withdrawing to maintain control over what you see and feel. the curtains function as a symbol: closed enough to avoid being watched, yet open enough to look outside yourself. It revolves around that duality — observing without being observed. closeness at a distance.

the embroidery hoop refers to domesticity and safety, but instead of embroidery it contains small, colored drawings on linen. Intimate, everyday scenes that feel familiar yet slightly unsettling. because when does looking quietly turn into voyeurism?

the series shows how the small, private, and seemingly safe can offer protection — but can also become restrictive. What first feels comforting can quickly turn limiting and suffocating.

today, we carry our “window to the outside world” in our pocket: a screen that is always open. but does this constant connection truly make us freer? or does it simply create a new form of distance and control?

STICK MICH moves precisely within this tension between withdrawal and sharing, between intimacy and observation.
